Helix Car Sales - Warranty Information

At Helix we offer a number of warranty packages dependant on make, model and year of car. WMS is a national company and their warranties can be used at most creditable garages throughout the UK.

5 Star Policy – applies to cars and light commercial vehicles which are up to 10 years old and have covered less than 100,000 miles at the inception date.

Cover includes the breakdown of certain components under the following headings: Engine, Manual and Automatic Gearbox, Timing Belts (providing there is proof that the manufacturers’ replacement recommendations have been complied with and they are free from oil contamination), Turbo, Front/Rear Drive System, Brakes, Steering, Cooling System, Propshaft, Fuel System, Front/Rear Suspension, Wheel Bearings, Clutch, Electrical, Casings.

During the period of insurance, all non-modified mechanical and electrical items will be insured against breakdown except those listed under exclusions.

Exclusions

Chassis, Bodywork, Interior and Exterior trim, Locks, Glass, Tyres, Batteries, Exhaust Systems, Fuel Tanks, Brake Friction Material, Wiring Looms, Road Wheels, clearing of Fuel Lines, Injectors, Oil Seals, Satellite Navigation, Seized Brake Callipers and all services items, Heater Elements, Centralised Locking Pumps, Car Telephone, Air Bags, Sensor Keys. Air Conditioning recharging, Anti-freeze, Lubricant Filters, Transmissions Fluids, External Oil or Fluid leaks, Hardware e.g. bolts and fixings, Pulleys/Dampers, serviceable and ancillary items. Instrument gauges are covered only in the event of a single gauge which can be replaced separately not as a cluster.

Car Hire
In the event of a valid claim and provided that the repair time in accordance with Autodata schedules is in excess of 8 hours, a maximum of £20 per day inclusive of VAT (excluding petrol and insurance) may be claimed for up to a maximum of 5 days, related to the actual repair times from the time repairs commence.

Vehicle Recovery
In the event of a valid claim, Tow-in charges up to £50 including VAT will form part of the maximum claim liability.

Periods of cover available for all of the above are 3,6,9,12,15,24 and 36 months.

Available claim liabilities range from £200 to the original vehicle Purchase Price dependant on the customers’ requirements. Maximum claim liabilities are indicative of a per claim basis and the Insured will be permitted to make unlimited claims throughout the duration including parts, labour and VAT.
